Defining British luxury

Featuring the house’s signature scent, Purple Water is the first fragrance by Asprey and combines fresh citrus lemon, mandarin and jacaranda with white ginger and spicy undertones of basil, vetiver and musk, denoting strength and stature. The fragrance, using only the finest essential oils, was originally created to be a distillation of the rich and creative past of Asprey, and the brand’s exciting and luxurious present.

History

Asprey was founded in South London by William Asprey, who established a silk printing business. William’s son Charles and his grandson, also Charles, expanded the business into the metallic arts. In 1841 the elder Charles went into partnership with a London stationer located on Bond Street. In 1847 the Aspey family broke with their partner and moved into 167 New Bond Street, the premises Asprey occupies today.

Brand

Ever since the house was founded in 1781, Asprey has continuously defined British luxury on the basis of its core values of quality, refinement and innovation.

Asprey established its reputation as the premier maker of luxury goods by winning a gold medal for its dressing cases at the International Exhibition of 1862. In the same year Asprey was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria. A royal warrant is a mark of the highest quality, awarded to select suppliers to the British royal family, and to this day it still holds a royal warrant from HRH the Prince of Wales.
